I am in love with a guy, but he has a girlfriend who people say is my double? HELP people advice?

I really like this guy at school, he's lovely and funny and we have loads in common! When we talk we talk for hours, we were really getting on when we took a school trip to Italy and everyone was talking about how close we were and it didn't bother him. I went to Africa for 4 weeks in the summer holidays as my parents help out building schools. When I got back he had a girlfriend in the year below she has the same name as me and loads have people tell me I look like her (even though I don't think I do but I know what I mean). They don't have anything in common and are so different. I was devastated I wanted to just move on, but he's just the same around me as it was before being lovely and even flirting. I keep thinking I am over him but every time I see him I can't think straight because my hearts beating to fast. I don't know what to do, please help?
