Im a guitarist and ill be performing (along with other band members) Ill be covering Seether-Broken, 3 Doors Down- Here without you, ANGEL BABY, Staind- Outside then to wrap it all up 3 songs we are working on. This is at a wedding thing, for one of our band members aunt. SO as you can see im nervous of playing for so many people at one. I dont want to let the other band members know cus i dont want 2 look bad. They have more experience.. TIPs thank uIm going to perform for the first time infront of a group of people!Need advice?
take that nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach and know that this can be transformed into positive energy...a boost!
the audience is looking for quirks...something to relate to...so be yourself and shine. have fun...that's what music is all about...good feelings...true? yeahhhhhhh! concentrate on the music...let it move U, vibrate thru U and you'll be super fine.
good luck! peaceIm going to perform for the first time infront of a group of people!Need advice?
I remember being nervous as hell doing my first gig, which was in front of a couple hundred people. But then once we started to kick in with the first song, my strage fright disappeared immediately, and I was just INTO it with a big smile on my face. I have no idea if things will go the same for you, but there will be other stuff to concentrate on while you're up there (the songs, your own music, how the other guys sound), and that will help you take your mind off the audience.
This gig isn't the be all end all. If you practice you will do great. Even if you get up there and you tank, the worse that could happen is that they don't like you. It's not like they will crucify you on stage because they don't like how you play. Just remember to try to have fun and try to think of you and your band playing in your living room with the couch and the TV as your audience.
