Does anyone realize exactly how many decided upon answers are not only sorely wrong, but waaay out of the ballpark? Why would people come to Yahoo Answers for legitimate advice?
I think sometimes people are embarrassed to ask certain questions of people they know. Or maybe they have asked but not gotten the answers they wanted to hear. I agree with you and some of the questions actually make me sad.Why would people come to Yahoo Answers for legitimate advice?
There are people that know what they are talking about on here. It simply is not a service that is offered. Common knowledge is what is available.
If we could read would we be here? No seriously, have you ever seen a guy with a bad hair cut? You wonder who did that to him. You wonder if he did it himself. Most of the time a ';professional'; with years of experience did it. Did you ever hear of a mal practice suit? I know, malpractice, is sooo ';rare.'; Just because you have a Park Ave office and a Ph.d, MD, DDS or a Masters Degree and a secretary, you can be an idiot! We come here to connect. Some people know stuff and some people don't but they want to share. Some people need to vent and feel that they should tell everyone else what to do. Some people need to put down what others do instead of walking away. That's why people come here. What do you think? OK Have a nice day and Good Luck.
Some are based on experience, and sometimes experience
is better than theory IE quitting smoking
There are some answers that can do more harm then good. And there fore l have to agree with you on that
Any questions that involve highly specialized knowledge of the law, medical issues or immigration must go to a professional
i think the majority of people are quite capable of of recognizing answers that are out of the ballpark, but, on the other hand, there's no overestimating the power of human stupidity.
Some people simply might not know where else to look for help, and, fortunately, there are a good number of people here who will try to steer those they can reach to good solutions.
