Advice from people that have done well in life financially?

im a ambitious 28 year old guy and i want to do well in life, i have reached a point now in my career where i can make some good money if i want to, but am finding it hard dealing with some aspects.


to do well in life do you have to really sacrifce alot as in put your head down and mouth closed and just get the job done.





step away from friends that dont have the same mindset, as in, people that just float through life with no real goals?





dont spend as much, stay home more and save money, live fruguily?





rub shoulders and please the right people to get the salary and opportunities?





im trying to look at the big picture of my life for where i want to be, to get there i need to grow as a person and step away from the social scene, has any one been in this situation before?
