Why is it that when people ask for advice they don't even use it?

Well i gave this guy advise for asking a girl out and he did the exact oppisite of what i told him and ended up getting slapped. Why did he ask me for advice in the first place if he wasn't just going to use it?Why is it that when people ask for advice they don't even use it?
Most of the time they just want reaffirmation on what they really want to do.Besides, as the word suggests( advice), you are not making the decision for that person but you are just giving them a choice to consider and it's up to them to use it or not.Why is it that when people ask for advice they don't even use it?
Some people are looking for reasons to share their problems with people, they don't care about the answers of advice they get back as long as they talk about it with someone. They want to talk but they already have solutions in their minds.
Some people who asked for some advices usually already have answer on their minds. They just want to hear the advice that agree with their answers.. They just want to hear what they want to hear and ignore the advices that go against their own.
I could tell you but would it matter.
