Why do people always say ';talk to him/her'; as advice?

Everyone knows talking to someone about your feelings is the best way to get it resolved, but (and I'm just curious) why do people always say that? If it were that simple who would need advice anymore? Why do people always say ';talk to him/her'; as advice?
it's not that simple, but a lot of times people just don't want to gather the courage and ask the person straightforward for their opinion or feeling on the specific subject. so instead, they go around asking others when other people can't and won't understand the situation fully since we are just reading a small bit of it that they provide. so, of course it's always best for that person to just get the guts and find out for themselves, but we are all human and all are afraid of rejection and whatnot, so instead we try and find the best answer elsewhere..Why do people always say ';talk to him/her'; as advice?
Apparently people don't know talking to someone about their feelings is the best way to resolve things, or they wouldn't come here whining and complaining and ranting without having addressed the issue with the person they're griping about.

Lack of communication is the issue that causes the most problems with any kind of relationship. It sounds like it should be common sense, but too many people avoid it...they try to give hints, signals, etc but wait until things are serious before actually opening their mouth and discussing the issue with the person(s) involved.

It IS that simple...and yet over and over people ask ';what should I do'; when they haven't done the one thing they HAVE to do to have any hope of resolving things.
well it's much easier said than done. people tell others to talk to him/her but if they were in the same position, they most probably wouldn't do it as easily as they make it seem. people want advice that can actually help them out.
